Want to ace a job interview?
Job interviews are scary. They are intimidating. How well you do decides the outcome. It is obviously nerve wrecking. They want to see who you are and what you can do for their business yet you can’t even act like yourself because you’re afraid that will ruin the chances of you getting a call back.
I actually have a job interview today. I am actually freaking out. I’m really weird. I will be going crazy about something because of how nervous and scared I am but then once I am actually in the situation, it’s not that bad and I usually handle it well. With all that being known, it still doesn’t stop me from being absolutely terrified.
4 lies I believed as a new Christian
Being a new Christian can be overwhelming. You get to watch your entire life do a 180. Sometimes it can be scary because it’s something you’ve never done before.More often times than not, a new believer can get caught up in the wrong mindset. Maybe we think these things because of watching other ‘christians’ or maybe it’s just something we think. Let me tell you a few things that I believed as a new Christian just in case you are in the same boat as I was.
My Second Month Blogging
This blogging journey has been very humbling yet super difficult and stressful. Until I can get to the point of quitting my job, I cannot do anything but work and sleep. I’m super busy. I work a 4am-12pm job, come home, and work on my blog until I have to sleep. Even though I am just going, going, going, I love it. I love blogging. To me, not a second gets wasted when I’m blogging. I enjoy it very much. Sure there’s a lot of work involved but It’s something I love doing. Read More
You Won’t Relent
I love this song. The first time I heard it, I fell in love with it. The words are just so astounding. There are 4 different parts to the song and they are all amazing.
This is one of my favorites to do with the youth because it is such an emotional song. I could do this song every single Wednesday because it’s that good but most Wednesday’s we don’t have a drummer. My boyfriend says that this song needs drums or else it won’t have the dynamics it needs to sound phenomenal. This song has a lot of quiet and an equal amount of loud parts to it. There are a lot of builds and a lot of drops. So if you’re going to do this song, drums are recommended.
My first month of Blogging
In August, God called me to blogging (More on that later). I set up my blog and made a post or two… but then I stopped. I just didn’t feel like I was doing anything productive with my time. In January, God hit me hard. He said, “Yo, Chrissy (Okay, He didn’t say yo) you know what I’ve called you to do… so why aren’t you listening?”
I wanted to do my own thing. I wanted to spend my time doing what I want to do. Selfish huh. I was basically saying, “Alright God, I know you have this great thing in store for me but I really just want to watch netflix right now. I worked all day and I just want to relax.”
5 Things to get a guitar player
Guys are super hard to shop for. I never know what to get my boyfriend. Luckily, he is a guitar player which makes it a little easier. There are countless things you can get a guitar player. Here are some gift ideas for that amazing musician in your life.
1. A Ditto loop pedal
I actually just recently got my boyfriend this for christmas. He asked for it for about a year until I finally decided he was worth that much money. I’m just kidding. I’d buy him the whole world… if I could afford it. Anyways, the ditto loop pedal is fun and entertaining. Good way to finally get rid of that clingy boyfriend of yours. Kidding again.
With the pedal, you hook it up to your guitar and record a short rhythm on guitar (or any instrument that is able to hook up to it) and it loops over and over. Then, you can add a bunch of layers doing different things! It’s really awesome.
Here is a link to one of the cheaper ones on amazon. Now, there are more brands than just ditto. I’m only telling you ditto because my trusted, guitarist boyriend told me it’s a really good loop pedal brand.
2. Guitar picks
I don’t care how many picks you think your boyfriend has. He doesn’t have enough. I play guitar too. So I know that you can never have enough picks. They dissapear. I never know where any of my picks go. One second theres one in my mouth and next thing I know, it’s no where to be found. I probably eat them. Once again, I’m just kidding. But really, they go missing every time it leaves your hands.
This is a link to a 100 pack of guitar picks. I like the assortment. I’m not really picky when it comes to what type I strum with. See what I did there? This pack has thin, medium, and thick. Your boyfriend may like a specific size, feel free to ask. If you just want to guess, I’d get either an assortment or medium. I actually bought these for myself to fill up my ‘pick’ jar and I love them! It even comes in a cute box.
3. Guitar Pick Keychain
Now, personally, I’ve never had one of these but I think they are so cool. I need to actually get one. It’s just a little pouch that holds a few guitar picks. He will always have a pick with him then.
4. “World’s Okayest Guitar Player” T-shirt
This shirt is so true. I would wear this night and day. Don’t get this for him if he will take it seriously and not as a joke because that wouldn’t be good. Then he would be mad and upset and you will have to burn it… along with his hopes and dreams that you just crushed. Seriously though, if my lovely boyfriend wasn’t going to read this post, I would totally get it for him. But since I know he will read it, it just gave away the surprise. I need a new plan.
5. Amp Coffee Mug
Now, this is a great gift for the coffee-loving, guitarist in your life. It’s so adorable. The shape of the mug is an amp! Who doesn’t think that’s cute?
The Envelope system:
This is one of my favorite systems to use when involving money. If you aren’t good at saving money or if you are one of those people that blows their pay check within a few days of getting paid and then struggling to make it to your next pay check, this is definitely something for you.
I’ve always been really good at saving money but I wanted to see how well this worked. Even if you’re good at saving, it keeps it organized. So even after I proved my theory, I am still to this day using it.
