Open When Letters
This is day 1 of what to put inside of ‘Open When’ letters! So we all desire to make our exquisite boyfriends ‘Open When’ letters that we see on pinterest and tumblr. All we can ever find online is the outside of the letters. So I am going to tell you all about the open when letters I made for my boyfriend and what I put inside of them.
My boyfriend and I have been best friends for about 6 years now. He is my best friend and the love of my life. Being the marvolous boyfriend he is, he deserves the best gifts ever. Ones that have swallowed countless hours of our time. So, here are these ‘Open When” letters that I have been blabbing about.
The outside of these letters can be whatever your innovative mind can think of. I used big envelopes, because I put a twist on my letters- which I will talk about soon. Lets just say a few small things have been places inside that couldn’t fit in a normal sized envelope. But here are some ideas on what the outside can look like:
Now, those are just a few ideas. The possibilites are innumerable!
The first letter I made was labeled “Open when you recieve these letters.” Which was for valentines day when I gave them to him.
I looked for many things to put in these, and all I saw was short and sweet letters. If I were to get letters like these, I would want to spend a little time reading and enjoying the gift I have been given. So, yes- my letters are much longer than they should be. But hey, there are no rules when making these. You can make as many twists and shifts as you want… make them your own; make them special.
Hey My Love!
So You obviously know that these are “Open When” letters. And if not, (No offense) but you’re kinda stupid ;D because It literally says it on all of the letters. Now, don’t open all of these right away. For example, One will be about when I make you mad… but I make you mad a lot. Don’t open it until you need it really badly. For these letters, you are going to use the flashdrive provided in this envelope. Now, sure, there will be all the files for all these envelopes, but I trust that you will only use it when I say, and only open what I say to open. I will give you more instructions later, when needed; just don’t loose it. I love you. I hope you enjoy these. I’ve been working on them since September.
I love you so much.
Also, since it is valentines day, Happy valentinesday. Just so you know, it was really hard to make these letters. In these I have forced myself to get over certain things. You will know when you come to them. Nothing bad, just things I’ve never been comfortable doing. Anyways, I love you, have an amazing Valentines day. 🙂 Remember, Don’t open these until you need them, you can look through them now to see what all you have, just don’t open them yet. I love you!
Now to explain this crazy flash drive I was talking about in my actual letter… I provided a flash drive in this for many reasons.
- For him to open files of me singing. (For some reason he loves my voice) If you can sing and play instruments, it comes in handy here. Be ready to sing some very lovey dovey songs.
- Also, for me to make funny videos of me making a fool out of myself to make him laugh. But also to make serious videos… Like tell him about the first time I met him and our first kiss.
I’d give this to him for a special occasion. Maybe an anniversary, christmas, or valentines day. Just because it’s a more sentimental gift and it’s one less gift you have to buy 😉 I’m just kidding… I love buying my man stuff. But also things to add to this letter could be: a dried up flower (Rose maybe), a video of you explaining what these videos are, or just you telling him you love him.
You can use something other than a flash drive (Because most would just look at everything on the flash drive all at once… that’s cheating). If you think your man would look at them without having the ‘go ahead’, use QR codes. Explain that he should download a QR code reader in the first letter instead of talking about the flashdrive. And then you could print out the QR code and he can just scan them as he opens the letters.
I hope you learned what to put in your first ‘Open when’ letter. This is just the first one… There is obviously many more to come, but see you until next time 🙂 Be sure to let me know how your open when cards are coming along! Thank you for reading day 1.
Here is a free download for the front of your Envelope if you don’t want to make it yourself. I suggest printing on cardstock just because it is thicker and more durable. They just cut it out and center it in the middle of your envelope and glue away!
