Hey There!
My name is Chrissy.
I’m an author, worship leader, musician, singer, and follower of Jesus. My walk with Jesus has seemed a lot more like an obstacle course, rather than a brisk walk in the park. I’ve loved every bit of it- yes, even the challenging parts.
I feel called to many different things. Not because I just can’t figure out what I’m called to do, but more so because I believe God uses us right where we are at. We are called to spread the gospel. For some, that means being a pastor or a worship leader, but for others, it might mean being a nurse or welder. No matter what season of life you are in, God can use you in that.
For me, it means worship leading branched into lots of smaller callings. When someone needs to hear my words, God makes me a speaker. When someone needs to hear my story, He makes me a writer. When someone needs to hear a melody, He makes me a worship leader. No matter where I am or what I am doing, God has constantly reminded me that Jesus stopped on the way to do ministry to minister to the woman at the well.
Even if you aren’t in the place you imagined, God still opens up doors for you to minister. You don’t need a stage or a guitar, you need the fruit of the spirit and the Holy Spirit. So I feel called to a lot of things because no matter what I do, as long as I’m letting God use me as a vessel to minister, then I believe that to be my calling.
God has taken me on an incredible, humbling, treacherous journey. It’s been painful but God has also blessed me and used me through it. What once was negative and angry is now kind, joyful, and changed. I learned to praise God from a valley, and I can’t help but to talk about the work He did in me. Everyone asks, “Why do bad things happen?” For me, I know that it was within the most broken moments of my life that I actually felt God. Sometimes it takes a valley or troubled sea, but even in the valley, God is still good. I pray if I impact even just one person through this, it will all be worth it then.
